The Teresina Chapter was created in the first semester of 2018, on the initiative of two civil engineers: Marcos Raiylson and Iury Barros. In the same year, some academics joined the project and helped boost the NGO.

Having as a pilot project the “Implementation of sustainable thermal blanket (UHT milk cartons) in low-income family housing”, became an official chapter in April 2019, currently has 50 volunteers – among professionals and students – and has the following departments in operation: Presidency, Communication, Finance, Projects and People Management.

The institution works with the development of technical projects and social actions, in addition to providing access to knowledge with training offered to members and civil society through partnerships, fixed or temporary, with qualified professionals able to teach. Besides the pilot project, one can mention: planning and execution of electrical installations in the same low-income residence, restoration of cabinets and painting of environments in a children’s home; solidarity mini-courses with food collection for elderly homes, among other actions.

The NGO has been trying to improve its organizational structure in order to accomplish large projects with which it has been involved and achieve its goal of becoming a reference in the region, showing the positive impact and transforming power of engineering, not only in the technical but also in the social field, being able to help those who need and do not have the knowledge or income to generate these goods and/or services.
