The chapter was founded in 2014 by five people, but with little effective participation. In 2016 there was a selective process, where twenty more volunteers came in, making the chapter a little more structured, but without organization yet. Since 2018 it has been carrying engineering projects with greater social impact.

Its biggest project was the Caminho Curto, already closed, where the team developed and applied a sewage collect and treatment project for a hundred people quilombola community called Caminho Curto

Currently, the Unibairro project is in progress, which consists of mapping the vulnerable maco-zones, in order to promote the integration of these areas with the needs of contemporary life and strengthen the community inner ties.
