Itabira Chapter

The Itabira Chapter, founded in 2012 by students from Universidade Federal de Itajubá, campus Itabira, counts with seven programs: Communication Without Borders, Fun Without Borders, Financial Education Without Borders, Electricity Without Borders, Digital Inclusion Without Borders, Environment Without Borders and Music Without Borders. Which is organized in four directories: Financial Administration, Communication and Marketing, People Management and Projects. There are about 100 contributors who use engineering and its mechanisms as a way to develop, through volunteering, the sustainability, the education and quality of life in the city of Itabira and region. 

Its seven fixed programs develop activities such as: english classes for children, young people and adults; entrepreneurship for children and young people, lectures about what to do after high school; Excel and basic computer classes, development of sustainability through lectures and workshops; renovation of the electrical part of homes and schools; musical instrument and singing classes. Besides, they develop specific actions such as Easter Solidarity, Children’s Day and Christmas Solidarity providing a day of joy for the communities and our volunteers. At the 2019 year the ONG’s projects directly achieved 5.312 people in Itabira and region.

Its fundraising takes place in collections at the traffic light. Every year, they go to the avenue with the highest movement in the city and sell products made by the members and trash bags for cars. In addition to customized products selling and collective financing through an online platform
