Support ESF’s local responses to COVID-19

Our large-scale projects are hanging, for the common good, but we can NOT stop helping! We need you to keep changing people’s reality. Our chapters are acting from collect food and hygiene kits for our recipients, to assistance projects that produce masks, 70% alcohol and antiseptic, brushing, face shields and other supplies for hospitals that are fighting COVID-19. Engineering is necessary for the response and we, along with the community and our partners, will find ways to support those in need!

Local Actions: Other engagements

The Mapa das Pias‘ program, will install 1000 Hand-Washing Stations at the Rio de Janeiro’ communities. This project is a partnership of the Rio de Janeiro (RJ) Chapter with the Instituto Carlos HansenInstituto Insolar and, the Rio de Janeiro Cityhall, serving more than 300 thousand people every day.

The Boa Vista (RR) Chapter, in partnership with the Roraima State Government, has installed Hand-Washing Stations in a street market, directly impacting 1500 people daily.

The ABC Paulista (SP), Aracaju (SE), Belo Horizonte (MG), Juiz de Fora (MG), Niterói (RJ), Ouro Preto (MG), São Paulo (SP), Uberaba (MG), Teresina (PI), Salvador (BA), Sorocaba (SP), Fortaleza (CE), Governador Valadares (MG), João Pessoa (PB) and Piracicaba (SP) Chapters raised funds to donate cleaning products and hygiene kits to the vulnerable communities, during the coronavirus pandemic’.

The Boa Vista (RR) Chapter was responsible for the Architecture and Complementary Projects Elaboration for the Campaign Hospital, which treats suspects and confirmed cases of the COVID-19, at Roraima’s state, in Brazil.

The Tucuruí (PA) Chapter, built 50 stations that act as a COVID-19 protection barrier, for those health professionals who are in contact with the coronavirus patients.

The Rio Grande (RS), Uberaba (MG), and Teresina (PI) Chapters have raised 146 L of milk to donate locally.

Partnership in National Actions

A partnership with the Habitat for Humanity Brazil, we built 29 Hand-Washing Stations in communities of 6 Brazilian capitals: Belo Horizonte (MG), Florianópolis (SC), João Pessoa (PB), Porto Alegre (RS), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), and Boa Vista (RR). Each station can impact 300 people a day, together, they impact 8,7 thousand people every day.

During social distancing, both parents and teachers are even more concerned about young people’s education. This is time to use the Internet for education and social transformation!
We set a partnership with “Jornada X – Operação Antivirus”, which use games to encourages young people using internet to research and abuse of creativity in order to solve the challenges brought by this virus in a fun way.

Coronavirus pandemic put small businesses under collapse risk. In order to these entrepreneurs, the Mentor Network campaign, an initiative of the Integrated Center for Studies and Sustainable Development Programs (CIEDS), aims to bring together those who are willing to contribute by offering online mentoring.

It takes less than one hour of voluntary mentoring monthly to support with risk management, marketing and finance, and even in specific branches of any Brazilian region. Hundreds of businesses can be helped and are waiting for your initiative!
